DIY content managemnt

If you know from the start that you want a number of people to be able to add to, edit and update your website, then you consider a content management system website.

A content management system (CMS) website is a site based on databases. The databases hold all the components of your website: images in one, text in another, structure in yet another, and your website is displayed 'on the fly' as users click from page to page. This is known as a 'dynamic' website. The benefit of a CMS is that an interface can be built that allows people to add, edit and delete content without the danger that they will alter the design or the structure.

Content management systems are not cheap. They have to be built by teams of technical experts. But there are also a number of off-the-shelf content management systems that are less expensive, while still delivering a website that can be edited by anyone with minimal training.

If you need to have your website updated constantly and want to keep control of this, then a CMS website may be for you. I can recommend several good off-the-shelf prodcuts. I can also set up the site and train your staff. Or I can recommend web development companies that have the experts you need to build you a bespoke CMS website. Please contact me.
