If your company is big enough to need internal communications, or if there are documents you all need to share, you should consider setting up an intranet.
Intranets are internal websites that live on your network and can only be seen by you and your staff. They can serve as an online noticeboard, a document library, a central telephone book, a central business contacts database, or make easier other internal communication.
Intranets are easy to set up once the purposes for it have been decided. I come to your business, talk to both department heads and staff to see what they think they need and want, and to make suggestions, draw up a suggested structure for the intranet, then design and build it.
Intranets can be run by your IT or another department, such as marketing. I offer training on running intranets, or I can come in to act as your editor on a weekly or monthly basis.
If you want an intranet that is more of a 'chat and post' area, where staff can exchange information and post up documents, then you might want to consider an internal blog.
Intranet or blog, they each deliver increased efficiency and decreased waste of time, by improving communications within your organisation.
